Okay, so normally I wouldn't care less about these types of things. I'm not a slave to fashion (even tennis fashion) and usually I'm not influenced by any company's alliance with either a celebrity or event. Recent additions and changes in the tennis industry, however, have made me wonder, "What were they thinking?"

Tennis racquets, hundreds of different models. It does not matter if you are a beginner or an advanced player, choosing the right racquet for your game will help you progress through the years . Our goals are to help you to avoid common mistakes when looking for your first tennis racquet and to improve your game to the higher level if you are an esteblished tennis player. On our pages you will find facts about various tennis racquets' weights, balances, lengths, stiffnesses, head sizes and other parameters as well as hints how to use them for the benefit of your game.
Thirty years ago, we had a few models of the tennis racquets. Now every manufacturer brings in 10-20 new models every year to keep up with the market. How do you choose the right one from about 150 new models? Do not forget that 150 of last year's models are still in stores. The rule of thumb is the "SwingStyle". Basically lighter and larger frames are made for the players with the shorter swings, while smaller and heavier frames are more suitable for the better level of player with fast and long swing. Every manufacturer has either type of racquets in it's line. It is a matter of preference when deciding which one to choose. Most of the large chains of stores will carry mostly US brands, but you will find vast variety of European or Japanese brands in the tennis pro shops.
Due to the high volume of new frames coming to the market every year you may find a lower price point for the last year's frames which are almost as good as this year's. We will update you with the information on the closeouts, but there is always more winning technology in the new frames, which can give you a little edge over your opponent.
There is a large number of places where you can buy a tennis racquet, but our advice is to support your local tennis pro shop, where you will service your racquet in the future, even though the price of it there could be a little higher than in the bigger stores or online.
